F In Math - Interviews

We catch up with Michael Logie about his solo project F in Math and some other stuff.

How long has F in Math existed?

In its current incarnation it has existed since i got back from England which was basically early this year. I did my first show at Camp a Low Hum, a lot of the stuff was written while i was in england last year. Some of the songs like “electrolysis” and “five things” have existed for way longer, like maybe 5 or so years but they were originally done with “steven hawkings” type vocals.

What was your inspiration for this project?

I basically try and make music that i think sounds right within the limitations of a drum machine, a bass, lots of effects, some synth, and vocoder. So F in Math was really just a decision to use some particular pieces of equipment to make music with. To me that's why it sounds the way it does. Lyrically its inspired by whatever I'm thinking about, there is usually a bit of maths in there, but its generally a sort of stoner's version of maths.

Danelectro bass guitar - DC or Hodad, not Longhorn?

somebody please tell me where i can buy a Danelectro DC bass or Hodad bass!
i've been looking for ages and can't find anything.
a website would be better than a store.
thanks

Check out http://www.guitar24.de
It is a German site but they ship to all Europe.
If you cannot see it on the web site, just give them a call.

Do danelectro do NOTHING for the bass?

Ive found a gorgeous mini amp from danelectro..but i cant find a bass amp by them ANYWHERE. So shall i just stick my bass into that an hope for the best?

Same thing with effects the pedals.. can i just chuck em on and see if they do the job.. lol. Plus if someone can find me a danelectro bass tuning pedal ill love them FOREVER (In the UK) I can only find tuning pedals in America and theyre not even for the bass. :\

or am i just being stupid and you can use em anyway?

Ohh thanks =] Yehh you're right loads of people say you should buy amps specifically made for your bass.. i wondered if the same was true of pedals.

it dosent matter if you plug a bass guitar in a electric guitar amp nothing happens i always do it you will always get people sayin NOO thats just stupid it'll blow your amp.

just ignore em same with effects pedals just plug em into your bass n it'll be fine they may not be as good because some bass pedals are designed for that frequancy but you arent being stupid
