Can you use an electric bass guitar with an electric guitar amp?
Jul 29, 16 by Stewart | Posted in Car Audio
I have an electric guitar and i want to buy a bass guitar and i have a bass amp. So why not use my electric guitar amp.
You need a bass amp, because a guitar amp is not designed to play the low notes a bass guitar plays. You will wear out the speaker(s) in it pretty quick if you use it. Why use the guitar amp if you have a bass amp?

How to make electric guitar sound like a bass?
Nov 21, 2008 by popcon77 | Posted in Other - Music
Is there any way (tuning wise, i cant afford any pedals or anything) that i can tune my 6-string electric guitar to sound more like an electric bass guitar?
ok
the cheapest way is to find an octave pedal
the p.o.g is the best i have played
you can make it sound like a hammond b3 organ
or in your case.... a six string bass
once you buy a pedal tho
take your tone knob and turn them to the lowest setting you can, now i wouldn't recommend this unless you have the pedal on and active
but yea
and if you want it to sound bass throughout your performance then cut your mids and highs and boost your amp's bass output
combine that with heavier gauge strings and you should be good.
plus it'll sound and look better than buying a bass at a reasonable price.
but if you are broke as heck
then .... drop a whole step down see how you like it
then another
repeat until you feel comfortable
like i said earlier... mess with your eq too
and use a neck pickup.
cheers
