When anyone describes a near-death experience and being in the presence of God, bystanders tend to listen politely while looking for escape routes. Mary Jo Rapini of Houston and the three others featured in I Was Dead, premiering at 8 p.m. tonight, Jan. 4, on Discovery Health, felt the same way, until they saw the light.
For all of them, their NDE involved an overwhelming feeling of love that changed their lives. However, there also were differences, some saw deceased loved ones or had out-of-body experiences. Rapini remembers entering an engulfing pinkish glow. She heard God speak.
In 2003, 42-year-old Rapini was working out in a Lubbock gym when she was felled by a brain aneurysm. She remembers the pain, loss of body control and the feeling of being underwater. She thought she had broken her neck.
While in intensive care being prepared for surgery, she saw a light. Rapini, a psychotherapist who counseled terminally ill patients, wondered if this was the tunnel her patients had tried to tell her about.

I criticized this before and am still irritable to see it has not changed a bit, although the dollar keeps falling and falling.
