Darker And Angrier

Was released September 15 and features a song about drag racing. “1,320” kicks off with what sounds like a Top Fuel dragster.

“No,” says Mustaine. “That’s a nitro Funny Car. It’s one class up from Top Fuel.”

Born in La Mesa and on his own since the age of 15 (“my mom bailed on me”), Mustaine says he has been a diehard fan of the drags since he was a kid. “ESPN heard the song, and they want to use it, too. They asked if we’d be willing to play at a race or be part of a celebrity race, and I’m, like, ‘Yes!’ ”

Dave Mustaine has a reputation as a bad boy of thrash metal, and his commentary has not been limited to his former bandmates in Metallica. He says that’s all in the past. The musician once called the Red Devil by his Japanese fans is now clean, sober, and born-again. Megadeth may be darker and angrier than ever on record, but Mustaine has written a book (scheduled for release next year) that reflects the new Dave.

“What got me off before — being mean-spirited and stuff like that — it doesn’t really make me feel good anymore. So I’m a little more conscientious about stuff that I say, if it’s gonna really do damage to somebody or if it’s gonna be…” He stops.

Dean Dave Mustaine VMNT Guitar?

Is the new Dean Dave Mustaine VMNT guitar an all around good guitar(like sound, tone, etc.) and is it a good guitar for someone who's played acoustic for a year and wants to move on to electric. Here a link for the guitar.

I would highly reccomend it!! I recently tried this beauty out,and it plays killer!! The weight is perect, nice and light, yet balanced,it's not top heavy so it sits nice when strapped. The neck is a nice ebony, and in my opinion super fast!! Excellent set up for metal, easy fretting notes, pinch harmonics squeal nicely, the pick ups suited the guitar very nicely, and I ran them through the whole gambit, from clean,to down right full blown gain soaked scream!!
I believe that this particular model maybe an import, but fear not!! It is quality through and through. The new owners at DEAN are kicking butt, even the import models rival alot of "USA" models from other companies.I own the DEAN RAZORBACK USA model, and played the import model, feel wise there was no difference, material wise there was no difference(same woods used, same hardware, same pick ups), TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!! Head down to your local dealer and try it out, you'll be back to buy it!!

I've had mine for two years now,and it gets abused severly daily,NEVER had one problem with it...plays awsome, and built like a tank.

I am thinking about playing the guitar again What do you think?

I have been looking at the dean VMNT "X" and a marshall MG15MSII Micro Stack. I haven't played in 20 years or so. Is this a decent guitar and amp? If not any suggestions? Price is a big factor. And yes I know it's a V. I have always had a V. I won't have anything else.

Both are rubbish.
Go for a Vox or Roland amp and an Ibanez guitar instead.
