ESP LTD EC-1000 or Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy Custom EX?

I'm looking for a Les Paul shaped electric guitar with EMGs, but I cannot decide whether to get the Epiphone Prophecy Custom EX or the LTD EC 1000. The Epiphone comes with EMG 81 and 85 and the LTD comes with EMG 81 and 60. Also the LTD comes with ESP
I have both (but the GX Epi). The ESP is lighter weight and has larger frets. The Epi is a solid, heavy guitar. I've usually avoided Epi's, but these Prophecys are put together VERY well. Personally, I think you get more bang for your buck from the

Those are both GREAT Les Paul copies (the Epiphone is 'technically' not a 'copy').
The cheaper Epi's are crap, but up in that range, they are 'the real deal.'
But I really, really like ESP guitars. The EC1000 is my wish-list

Hey, I wanted to know if I would be fine with EC-1000 playing bands like RHCP? Pink Floyd? I don't enjoy hard metal stuff..
Would Fender Strat be better for that? Thanks.
A strat is an all around great guitar for most rock and blues.
So if your noy wanting to play heavily distorted metal than youll love a strat.
