Where are ESP guitars made, and are there sweatshops involved?

I only have a Squier Precision Bass and a Squier Stratocaster, but I've recently taken an interest in ESP since Jackson doesn't make wild shapes for basses. I'm just wondering, since I'm a bit of a hippie/ethical obsessive, where are ESP guitars made, and are there any questionable practices involved? If there are, I'm just going to learn how to become a luthier myself.
LTD Guitars are usually made in Indonesia or Korea. Custom ESP's and other High end ESP's are made in Japan. As far as I know, there are no sweat shops or anything involved. The LTDs are mostly factory made, with some hand assembly, done on an assembly line. High end ESPs and customs are hand made in Japan by highly skilled luthiers, hence why they are very expensive.

What genre of music are EsP guitars used in the most?

i have an esp ltd f-50 and i've been using it to play metal and it sounds fine
i.e the ideal brand of guitar for pop/punk music is a fender stratocaster (so i've heard)
which bands actually use Esp guitars in their music and what genre
What I have found appears to be mostly metal; either modern or classic.
Examples:
Lamb of God's (metalcore, groove metal) Willie Adler;
Slayer's (thrash/speed metal) Tom Araya;
Metallica's (heavy/thrash metal) James Hetfield;
Machine Head's (thrash/groove metal) Rob Flynn; and
Bon Jovi's (less metal; more hard rock) Richie Sambora.
Check out the source I have provided.
