Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500R?
I just bought a Seagull S6 Original last week...I thought I really liked it, but since I bought it I've been second guessing my choice because I didn't really play that many guitars at the
store... I hadn't played guitar in about 6 months (headstock broke on my other one)...so I couldn't remember anything to play...Anyways...after a week or so of playing the Seagull S6, I found I don't really like the sound of it when i strum it...I have 30 days to return the guitar and I'd like to exchnage for a solid wood guitar.. from what i read it looks like the Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500R is nice (i like a wider neck..but the 1.8" seagull might be a little too much..1.75" would be perfect)....I just can't believe a solid wood guitar - solid sitka spruce top with solid rosewood back and sides could be so cheap..its only $550...is it too good to be true? anyone know about any issues with this guitar?
thanks..
I've played one - it's got a "V" shape neck that I didn't like, but a lot of people do. Also, it's got a satin finish - not gloss. They are cheaper b/c Epiphone has them made in Korea or China - but the quality looked good to me. I liked the sound of the DM-500ME better b/c it had more bass - but I'm not a finger-style player. So be sure to play it in a quiet room at the store - also check out the Alvarez Artist Series - especially if you're going to plug it in. I think they are around $750 but they sound incredible tthrough an amp or PA.
