In a beige-brick house on Winchester Road, once the home of a lounge owner named Buster, is a business known as "Guitar Bob's.''
Guitar Bob's has about 500 vintage and used guitars, some of them rare, such as the 1962 Fender Stratocaster that was once appraised at $12,500.
At the far end of the house is a room for the bass guitars, another for the acoustic guitars.
Electric guitars are in the middle of the house. About 500 amplifiers are among the items crammed in the basement.
Every now and then, a customer tells Bob Conner, the owner, that the guitars should have a more orderly display.
"It doesn't make any difference,'' he says. "They end up where they end up.''
In the acoustic room, Conner surveys the inventory. There are guitars with six strings, others with 12, he says.
There are also banjolins, a mandolin that's made like a banjo, popular at the turn of the 20th century.

I am wondering what the price range of a "fender" acoustic guitar is? my friend has one and she tells me it's about $1000 but that she got it cheap. how much would it cost for me to buy from a music store?

I can get a BRAND NEW Fender Acoustic for less than 500 of your US Dollars.
It should cost you between 200 and 400 dollars minimum. Unless its some kinda custom/electro acoustic.
I got a brand new Fender Acoustic Guitar for Christmas 2 years ago with the intention of learning to play but working full-time and being a student as well kind of put a damper on that! I don't know anything about guitars and am planning on selling it. Its a Fender Classic Acoustic guitar in perfect condition. I've hardly played it. I'm curious to see how much I can get for it.
A safe rule of thumb is to expect no more than half of what you paid for it, even if it is in mint condition.
