1979 GIBSON ES. 335 INPUT JACK SHORT?
I am the original owner of a 79 Gibson es. 335. Well I have had it stored in a case for 3 years, the last time I played it it was fine. I recently got it out, pluged it in and the input jack is shorting in and out! I tried several different cords, and amps, same outcome. Does anyone know how much this is going to cost for repair? If your familiar with the 335 its like balsa wood fragile, I would never try to work on it myself.
Thanks!
hi, before you take it in get some anti-static spray servisol super 10 is good and spray into jack socket on guitar and leave for 5-mins plug in jack and try it may work. sometimes you get a depsit of sorts in the electrics and using this spray could sort it out.
