Is Ibanez RG Prestige a good guitar for punk rock? Or is it too heavy-metaly looking?

Like this one... I want a white one, the top RG, Prestige model. It is a terrific guitar, but it looks... isn't it just a guitar for those superblackdeath666avesatanheavymetalers? I only know that Dexter Holland from the Offspring uses RGs

Fender or Ibanez? What should I choose?

I don't know what to choose. I've played the guitar for 10 years. I have two classical guitars and one Kramer stratocaster-copy, which was cheap, but still sounds really good. Anyway, I look for something better.
I'm so confused because I like rock and sounds with absolutely no distortion and fingerstyle playing, like the Dire Straits (then I would choose a Stratocaster) but I also love heavier punk-sounds, like the Offspring (then I would choose an Ibanez RG). I am definitely not a fan of metal. And I hate thin and "slippery" necks. What do you think?

I'd go with a high end American Strat like the S1. Try it through one of the Fender Amps like a Deville. People say it doesn't make a difference, but I think you get a better sound. I like the Ibanez RG as well, but the kind of music I like to play sounds a lot better with the Strat. Its a more versatile guitar than the Ibanez. You might also want to consider a Rickenbacker.
