How can i find out how much to sell my guitar for?

My Fiance wants to sell his Jackson SL2H guitar for about $1650, but before he does that he wants to know if there are any good websites he can go to, to see get a quota on how much to sell his guitar for. Something like a kelly blue book for cars.

Any ideas...?

no website will be able to tell you accurately b/c, condition, any upgrades he made to it.

Go to several guitar shops, and see what they will pay for it.
Then get the average, and add a reasonalble amount since you are selling it instead of the store.

Why do so many great guitarists switch from Jackson to ESP?

I know many great guitarists (mainly in metal) who started of playing Jackson guitars, only to end up switching to ESP (or Dean, in Mustaine's case) after a while. Some names that come to mind are Dave Mustaine, Alexi Laiho, Marty Friedman, Roope Latvala... surely there are more I can't think of.

I'm just curious why it seems so many people switch away from them. I've played several ESP's, and I still haven't found one that feels faster or more ergonomic the the Jackson Soloist SL2H I've been using for the past several years.

If you think an ESP can beat it, which one? Not including the signature series, I've heard great things about the ESP Horizon series, but I don't really know.
Oh right ... I forgot Alexi's Jackson was stolen!

I think the decision is really up to the guitarist. I've tried the Jackson's, and to me they feel a little to fragile and light. But on the other hand, ESP's (the less expensive ones) lack the tonal quality I prefer, the more expensive one sound A LOT better.
