How can I get a Rickenbacker 4001 sound from a cheaper bass guitar?

I have a Yamaha RBX374 bass and a "Fender Rumble Series 100/210 100 Watt 2x10 Bass Combo Amp", am thinking about upgrading, but my price range isn't high enough for a Ric 4001. Is there anything I can do to get that sound, or should I buy another guitar? If so, which one?

Ricks have a punchy sound.

If your amp has bass, middle and treble controls, try boosting the bass and treble to your liking, but leave the middle fairly low in comparison.

This is often called a "V" notch effect.

Why does my Rickenbacker 4001 have 2 output jacks?

one is labeled "STANDARD" the other is "RICK-O-SOUND"

in the past when people have asked me why i've got two jacks, i told them the STANDARD is for mono whilst RICK-O-SOUND is for stereo, 1 amp per channel via a Y-splitter. am i correct?

Yes. The Rick-O-Sound is for stereo output. The standard is for mono (basic) output.
