Project Studio Setup

I am in the process of building a project studio in my garage. I have 1 fairly large room. I am building my studio around my macbook pro and need some advice. I have been using cubase w/ 2 motu 8pres to get 16 simultaneous firewire tracks but now i am switching to protools. WHat is the best solution to get 16 simultaneous firewire into protools? Im also on a fairly tight budget. I have looked at the Mackie Onyx 1640i and it seems to be the cheapest option at this point. Has anybody used one of these? Would it be better to use my yamaha mg32 14fx mixer going into 2 mackie 2626? As for studio design what would be the best way to minimize bleeding through the mics? The usually session i have consists of drums, 2 guitars, bass, 2 keyboards, sax and 2 vocals. I have the bass and guitar amps both mic w/ sm57 and they are placed next to eachother separated by a large pice of plywood with sound absorbing foam. Untill now i have not isolated the drums at all which leads to some bleed into the other

A question for the board guitarists

Was thinking about a Yamaha Pacifica, which seems to be excellent value fo money and really popular with beginners. No idea about amps thought,

Reporting Back On The Yamaha JX-15 Amplifier....

I can see why the JX series was adapted to for Jazz guitar...at least that's what i announce on the internet....the bath moderate is improve....i even like plugging my guitar without delay into the amp without effects, cranking up the input 'mass' and keeping the strength tome at 9'o'clock leaning, cut back the treble and help the bass shed weight....and then there is even reverb!!! I condign am not unfailing which fount it is....I dubiety it's digital, but possibly...a tacky 12 bit digital reverb by todays standards was state of affairs of the art in 1980....possibly it's a lengthy analogue 'pail brigade' course made to emmulate a reverb implication....i foist i knew what to look for under the hood, but if it isn't a spring reverb, i straight won't discern.

How do i connect my guitar and pedal into my amp?

I have a Yamaha Guitar model ERG121U

and a Yamaha Guitar amplifier model GA 15

Im planning on getting a pedal sometime near in the future but I am worried i need to buy a new amplifier fo i can also use the pedal.

Please help

The pedal has nothing to do with volume unless that is what it's designed for. All you need to do it plug it in between the amp and your guitar

there will be an input and output connectors for the pedal. You plug the guitar in (same cord that goes from the guitar to the amp normally without a pedal), to one side of the pedal (input) and run another cord (same kind of cord) to the amp. You don't need a special amp or anything to use a pedal.

Why is my guitar amplifier not amplifying my guitar's sound?

I just changed the strings on my Yamaha electric guitar (ERG 121C). Now, when I hook it up to my amp, it won't make any sound! What could it be?

*I checked everything. Its all fine, and yes I did use the proper strings. Could it have something to do with the height of my pickups?

As you mention changing the strings, forgive me that this seems like a silly idea but you didn't change the strings to nylon strings did you? Or another irregular kind which wouldn't be picked up by magnetic pickups.
